Need routine foot treatment? Every new patient will require an Initial Routine Podiatry/Chiropody Consultation (first appointment). In this appointment we will conduct a full medical history, details of your medication, allergies and any previous related treatment.

As a new patient at our practice needing routine care then we recommend this Initial Routine Podiatry/Chiropody Consultation. If you have multiple problems to discuss and treat, this appointment will give you the opportunity to discuss them with a health professional and formulate a plan for your ongoing care. For patients requiring Core Podiatry Needs such as immediate management of a corn, toenail or hard skin lesion, you will receive this in this appointment.

What can I expect from the consultation?
Full Medical History: Current or Past medical conditions or surgery
Full list of Current Prescription Medication will be required (please bring this to your appointment if not completed in pre appointment questionnaire)
Vascular assessment which includes palpation of pulses, an assessment of overall lower limb health or if required Doppler assessment or ankle pressure brachial index (ABPI)
Discussion regarding foot pain or concerns
Core Routine Podiatry/Chiropody will also be performed, treating the following:
Nail problems: thickened or ingrowing toenails
Nail Trauma
Fungal Nail and Skin Infection
Corns
Callus
Cracked heels
Verruca lesions
Foreign body removal
Suspected infection
Blister management
Rheumatoid Arthritis foot care
What will I need for my consultation?
It is important to have appropriate history revised when attending your Initial Routine Podiatry/Chiropody Consultation as this will allow the Podiatrist to identify any problems. You will need to inform us or any medication you are taking.

Core Routine Podiatry/Chiropody Care (returning patients)
The Foot MOT. Core podiatry encompasses all methods of foot health management including treatment of the nails and skin as well as assessment of vascular/neurological status.
SWIFT Verrucae Treatments
Swift is a new technology, developed in the UK, which has been licenced for the general treatment of skin lesions in Podiatry and Dermatology. Swift uses microwave energy which is delivered through a special probe to treat the affected tissue. Package includes 3 treatments and a follow-up.
Verrutop Verrucae Treatment
Verrutop is a new type of wart treatment. Unlike Cryotherapy or other chemical treatments, Verrutop does not act by freezing or burning the tissue. Instead it denatures the viral protein and desiccates the wart tissue, which then falls off the skin, leaving intact skin underneath.

Nail Surgery
Treatment for ingrown, distorted and/or fungal nails. An offending section of an ingrown nail will often cause pain, inflammation and in some cases, infection. It is therefore imperative that this problem is treated in a timely and efficient manner to avoid further complication. Price includes 2 x follow up appointments.
Fungal Nail Treatment
Lacuna treatment involves using a specially designed micro burr and painlessly drilling small holes within the nail plate across the fungal infected area to expose the nail bed. Application of anti fungal spray is then able to pass through the small drilled holes which can effectively treat the point of infection under the nail.
Diabetic Foot Screening
Having diabetes means you’re at much greater risk of developing foot problems. But understanding how diabetes affects feet can help you avoid these complications. Having an annual check up is very important.
Warm Wax Therapy
This relaxing and effective treatment is most effectively used following your routine podiatry appointment although can be done in isolation or purchased as a voucher for a friend or family member in need of a pamper!
