Dr Andrea Graham
Senior Podiatrist
A qualified Podiatrist from the University of Salford since 1993, Dr Andrea Graham worked within the NHS for 12 years; culminating in her role as a Specialist Podiatrist within Rheumatology at Wrightington Hospital, Lancs and has recently left her role as lecturer/researcher in Podiatry at University of Salford. Andrea achieved her PhD in 2017, has presented at international and national conferences, published over 14 peer-reviewed journal articles, contributed to book chapters in relation to patient education, foot health and rheumatoid arthritis and co-developed the foot health section of the National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society patient support web-site. This body of work has contributed to the development of national guidelines and a term of office on the council of the British Health Professions in Rheumatology (now part of the British Society of Rheumatology – BSR).
Andrea also has wide experience in the development and analysis of survey data. She has been a key member of research teams for recent foot health related projects: most notably the UK National Foot Orthoses survey conducted in 2016, the aim of which was to understand the national profile of multidisciplinary manufacture, use and prescription of foot orthoses in the UK. Andrea’s most recent research project was to co-ordinate and manage the Foot Health Prioritisation project (https://www.jla.nihr.ac.uk/priority-setting-partnerships/foot-health/) in collaboration with the James Lind Alliance and the University of Salford’s School of Health and Society. This 2 year project concluded with a launch of the Top Ten Research Priorities for Foot Health at the British Medical Association in November, 2019.
